He faces charges of murder, premeditated murder, and grievous bodily harm. We have layered the charges to ensure the suspect, who acted with extreme brutality, is held accountable. The maximum penalty is 15 to 20 years imprisonment,” said Bogor City Police Chief Commissioner Rio Wahyu Anggoro on Monday, 25 May 2026.

“Given the heinous nature of the act, the charges include Articles 459, 458(1), 479(3), and 466(3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), in conjunction with Article 2(1) of the Emergency Law,” he added.

Rio stated the suspect has been formally charged and detained. Authorities are further investigating possible additional motives beyond the suspect’s confession.

“We have conducted interrogations, elevated the suspect to an official suspect, and placed him in custody at Bogor City Police Department’s detention facility,” Rio said.

“We are also expanding the investigation to uncover any other motives beyond what the suspect has admitted. We are not merely pursuing a confession but gathering valid evidence to properly charge him according to his actions,” he added.

Previously reported, Bogor City Police uncovered a case where a woman was thrown from a toll bridge on the BORR Toll Road onto Sholeh Iskandar Road (Sholis) in Bogor. Suspect M Febryan, alias Ambon (26), confessed to killing the victim out of resentment after she made derogatory remarks when he told her his parents had passed away.

“On 2 May 2026, they met at Air Mancur, where the victim asked the suspect about his parents. The suspect replied he had no parents left, leading to comments that angered him,” Rio said on Monday, 25 May.
