Man attacked and stabbed by ruffians in Tangerang Selatan sustains injuries to thigh and calf

Tangerang Selatan — ES (27), a victim of assault by two ruffians at Bukit Market in Serua, Ciputat, Tangerang Selatan, sustained laceration wounds and bruising across several parts of his body.

“The victim suffered a laceration wound to his right thigh, left calf, left sole of the foot, and bruising to his left eye,” stated Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq, chief of the East Ciputat Police Subprecinct, when contacted by Kompas.com on Thursday (12 March 2026).

Following the assault, the victim was immediately taken to Permata Pamulang Hospital for medical treatment.

The assault began when the victim was assisting his sibling with a market stall at Bukit Market. At that time, ES noticed two men with initials AS (29) and MR (28) allegedly demanding money from traders. He then remonstrated with the perpetrators to cease their actions.

However, the perpetrators took umbrage at his remonstration, resulting in a heated altercation with the victim.

Thereafter, the victim left the market. However, the two perpetrators pursued the victim as far as Maruga Raya Street, specifically in the direction of the Tangerang Selatan Mayor’s Office.

Residents who witnessed the incident gathered at the scene and immediately apprehended the two perpetrators, subsequently turning them over to the police.

“Both perpetrators were successfully apprehended at the scene of the incident and directly transported to the East Ciputat Police Subprecinct for further investigation and prosecution,” explained Bambang.

The two perpetrators have been designated as suspects and charged under Article 262 paragraph (2) of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code, pertaining to the criminal offence of aggravated assault.

Police continue to search for material evidence in the form of the sharp weapon used in the incident.
