Man assaults pregnant wife causing bleeding in Manggarai Timur

A man identified by the initials YN in Manggarai Timur, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), is suspected of assaulting his pregnant wife until she bled. The victim, identified as KK, is believed to be two months pregnant.

“She is bleeding,” said the head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim) of Manggarai Timur Police Resort, Iptu Ahmad Zacky Shodri, on Friday (22 May 2026).

Zacky revealed that the incident occurred in Golo Ngawan Village, Congkar District, Manggarai Timur, on 3 May. YN assaulted his wife by kicking her until she fell.

“The assault was by kicking in the right back to make her fall,” Zacky said.

As a result, Zacky said, KK underwent two nights of intensive treatment at Borong Regional General Hospital (RSUD Borong). She has since returned home.

“The fetus is safe after treatment,” Zacky said. He emphasised that the case is being handled by the Women’s and Children’s Protection Unit (PPA) of the Manggarai Timur Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Reskrim).
