Man Arrested in Tangerang for Carrying 1,000 Tramadol Pills

The Tangerang City Metro Police, through the Sepatan Police Criminal Investigation Unit, have arrested a man with the initials HY (41) who was attempting to deliver tramadol pills. Police seized approximately 1,000 tablets of tramadol from HY’s possession.

Tangerang City Metro Police Chief, Kombes Herbin Garbawiyata J Sianipar, stated that this arrest is part of ‘Operasi Nila Jaya’, an operation aimed at eradicating the circulation of narcotics and prohibited drugs. HY was apprehended on Thursday (17/09/2026) while delivering the drugs in Kampung Kosambi, Tangerang Regency.

“Through Operasi Nila, we continue to strengthen efforts to combat the circulation of narcotics and potent drugs that are prone to abuse. This discovery was made possible through information provided by the community, which was subsequently acted upon by personnel in the field,” Herbin said in a statement on Sunday (20/09).

In addition to the 1,000 tramadol pills, police also seized a motorcycle used by HY to deliver the drugs. Based on preliminary investigations, HY claimed he obtained the drugs from an individual known as ‘Brewok’ for a price of Rp 5 million.

Herbin noted that HY is currently undergoing further interrogation. He explained that community information remains a vital component in uncovering illegal drug distribution activities.

“We will continue to develop this case to determine the origin of the goods and the possibility of other parties being involved. We also urge the public to immediately report any suspected transactions involving narcotics or drugs that have the potential for abuse,” he added.

As a result of his actions, HY is being processed under Article 435 and/or Article 436 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health. Police have also conducted initial laboratory testing on the evidence and are completing the investigation administration.
