Man Arrested in Sepatan, Tangerang, 13 Sachets of Meth Seized
Police have arrested a 33-year-old man, identified by the initials MD, suspected of being a methamphetamine dealer in Sepatan District, Tangerang Regency, Banten. A quantity of narcotics ready for distribution was seized.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sepatan Police arrested MD at his residence in Gang Toge, Pisangan Village, on Saturday (20/6) at around 2:25 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. The case came to light following a tip-off from the public about narcotics transactions occurring at the location.
“Based on the information received, the operational team immediately conducted an investigation. After verifying the information, officers carried out a raid and secured a man suspected of being involved in the distribution of methamphetamine,” said Sepatan Police Chief AKP Fahyani on Tuesday (23/6/2026).
During a search of the suspect’s house, police found several items of evidence believed to be linked to drug trafficking activities. The seized evidence included 13 small clear plastic sachets suspected of containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of approximately 6.60 grams, two suction devices or bongs, two digital scales, and a lighter.
“The search uncovered a number of sachets suspected to contain methamphetamine, already packed in small plastic clips, along with suction devices and digital scales believed to be used in drug distribution activities,” he stated.
The suspect and all evidence were taken to the Sepatan Police station for further legal processing. Police have also conducted initial laboratory tests on the evidence and are completing the investigation process.
Metro Tangerang City Police Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari emphasised his unit’s commitment to eradicating all forms of drug abuse and trafficking within the Metro Tangerang City Police jurisdiction. “We will not give any space to drug traffickers. This disclosure is part of the National Police’s ongoing efforts to protect the public from the dangers of narcotics, which can destroy the nation’s generation,” Jauhari said.
He added that the success of the case disclosure was inseparable from the active role of the community in providing information to the police. “We appreciate the public who dared to report. Drug trafficking must be a shared concern because its impact is extremely damaging, both for users, families, and the surrounding environment,” he said.
Jauhari also urged the public to increase their awareness of their surroundings and to immediately report any knowledge of drug abuse or trafficking activities. “We invite all members of the community to jointly combat drugs. If you become aware of any suspicious activity related to narcotics or other public order disturbances, please report it immediately to the nearest police station or through the Police Call Centre service 110, which is active 24 hours and toll-free,” he stressed.
Currently, investigators are continuing to develop the case to uncover the possibility of other networks connected to the suspect. Meanwhile, legal proceedings against the suspected perpetrator are ongoing in accordance with applicable regulations. The disclosure of 6.60 grams of methamphetamine by the Sepatan Police is estimated to have saved approximately 36 lives from drug abuse, based on the assumption that one gram of methamphetamine is used by six individuals.
