Man Arrested in Depok During COD Transaction for Prescription Drugs, 88 Tramadol Pills Seized

A man with the initials AS (41) was arrested by police after being suspected of attempting a cash on delivery (COD) transaction for prescription drugs in Cinere, Depok. A total of 88 Tramadol pills were seized by officers.

The case began when police were conducting area surveillance on Sunday (21/6) at 6.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. They became suspicious of the perpetrator who was waiting at the location.

“The complainant and witness suspected a man who appeared to be waiting for someone’s arrival in front of the Blok M shophouses, Cinere,” said Cinere Police Chief Kompol Chairul Saleh in a statement on Tuesday (23/6/2026).

The complainant and witness then approached the man and identified themselves as members of the Cinere Police. The man was questioned about his identity and his purpose for waiting at the location. However, he was unable to show an identity card.

“The complainant and witness then conducted a search of the man. Found in his possession were 50 pills of a branded drug wrapped in plastic and stored on the dashboard of his motorcycle,” he said.

During a further search, officers discovered 25 Tramadol pills, 12 Hexymer pills, and 1 Riklona pill. The perpetrator admitted that the drugs were intended for sale while he was waiting for a buyer at the location.

“AS explained that he had been running this drug sales business for three months using a COD sales system,” he stated.

The perpetrator reportedly earned a profit of around Rp 180,000 per strip, or per 10 pills, from the illicit business. The perpetrator was then taken to the Cinere Police Station for further investigation.
