Man Arrested for Sexually Abusing Boy in Bogor Using Mobile Phone Loan Ruse

Police have arrested a man with the initials AN (34) for sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java. Investigators have named AN as a suspect.

“We are providing an update on the development of the child sexual abuse case that occurred within the jurisdiction of Ciampea District. We received the report in June and have since named the perpetrator as a suspect,” said the Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit at the Bogor Police, AKP Silfi Adi Putri, on Thursday (25/6/2026).

Silfi stated that AN has been charged with multiple articles. The investigation into the case is ongoing. “The suspect is AN (34) and we have charged him under Article 473 paragraph 4 and/or Article 414 and/or Article 415 letter B of the Criminal Code,” she explained.

AN was previously arrested for allegedly abusing a boy in Ciampea, Bogor. The suspect is accused of committing the abuse under the pretence of lending the victim a mobile phone.

“The scenario is that an adult man enticed the victim by offering to lend him a mobile phone and then took him to his place of business. That is where the abuse occurred,” said victim advocate Entin Martini.

Entin said the perpetrator also recorded his depraved acts. The suspect allegedly sent the recording to the victim’s parents. She noted that the victim had not spoken about the incident at all. The crime was only uncovered after the recording was sent to the parents. “Not at all. He didn’t say anything, and it was only discovered because of the chat from the perpetrator,” she said.
