Man arrested for sexual molestation

TANGERANG, West Java (JP): An employee of a kindergarten in Karawaci has been arrested for allegedly sexually molesting a six-year-old boy.

Local police sources said yesterday that an employee of Melati Kindergarten, identified as Sy, was arrested on Wednesday.

Sy was arrested following a report from the parents of Ar, 6, who discovered that something was wrong with their child.

Ar's mother was taking the child to the bathroom on Wednesday afternoon when she smelled something strange in the body of the child. The woman then took Ar's clothes off and found sperm around the child's buttocks.

The child told his mother it was Sy who did it. Ar said he was playing in the kindergarten compound with two other local children, Ju and Ek (both boys), when Sy asked them to follow him.

The children were taken to a classroom where Sy tried to hug and kiss Ju and Ek, the police said. "The two children refused, but Sy offered Rp 100 to Ar, who accept the offer," the officer added.

"Medical reports indicate that there was no penetration at all," the officer said, adding that the suspect could have committed sexual assault or molestation, not sodomy. (28/sur)
