Man Arrested for Robbing and Assaulting Woman, Stealing Her Car and iPhone
A woman from Cileungsi, Bogor District, West Java, identified as LA (29), fell victim to an armed robbery in which her car and personal valuables were stolen. The suspect, named Kecot (33), who was her acquaintance, has been arrested.
According to the head of Cisauk Police Station, AKP Dhady Arsya, the incident occurred on Tuesday, 19 May at 01:00 Western Indonesian Standard Time. The day before, on Monday, 18 May at 20:00, the victim travelled to Tangerang to meet her acquaintance identified as MK or Kecot (33) following a prior arrangement.
“Around 21:00, the victim met the suspect Kecot at the roadside driving a Honda Brio at a lodging place in Serpong, South Tangerang,” Dhady stated on Saturday, 23 May. The pair then proceeded to an apartment in Serpong, South Tangerang. The suspect invited the victim for intimate relations four times and promised her a sum of money.
“Around 11:30, suspect Kecot and the victim left the apartment, but the suspect had not yet provided the promised money. According to their agreement, the suspect was to give the victim 2 million rupiah for four encounters,” he said.
After going out for a meal, around 00:30 they headed to Cisauk, Tangerang District, to pick up the suspect’s associate named Senet, who sat in the rear seat. During the journey, suspect Kecot immediately took the victim’s mobile phone that she was using.
“The suspect said, ‘You stay quiet, don’t say much. If you don’t want trouble, I’m going to take this car and sell it,’ and the iPhone was immediately seized by the suspect Sutri alias Senet,” Dhady added.
After driving around, the suspect then pointed a sickle blade at the victim’s neck and stomach. Subsequently, the victim’s hands were tied and she was abandoned on the roadside of Cisauk, Tangerang District.
“After successfully taking the car and iPhone, both suspects left with the stolen goods, whilst the victim walked and met a witness. The victim and witness then went to Cisauk Police Station,” he said.
Police launched an investigation and arrested Kecot on Thursday morning, 21 May. Investigations are ongoing and police are still searching for suspect Senet.
“The suspect was brought to Cisauk Police Station for questioning,” stated AKP Dhady Arsya.
The suspect is currently being held at Cisauk Police Station along with evidence including the victim’s car. Police are continuing their search for the second suspect, Senet.
