Man Arrested for Murdering Online Motorcycle Taxi Driver in Tangerang After Being Caught Stealing Keys

Police have arrested Rahmat Dimas, the suspected perpetrator of the murder and theft of an online motorcycle taxi driver, ATP, in Kosambi, Tangerang, Banten. Police revealed that Rahmat Dimas was caught by ATP while attempting to take the motorcycle keys. The incident occurred on Sunday (12/7) at around 3.50 a.m. Western Indonesian Time in Dadap, Kosambi, Tangerang Regency. At the time, the victim was sleeping at an online motorcycle taxi post. The perpetrator then spotted the victim and tried to take the motorcycle key from the victim’s pocket. When the victim woke up and caught the perpetrator in the act, Rahmat Dimas took out a knife he was carrying and stabbed the victim in the neck. After the victim died, the perpetrator took a Honda PCX motorcycle and the victim’s mobile phone. The perpetrator was arrested on Tuesday (14/7) at 12.30 a.m. Western Indonesian Time in a rented room on Jalan Bunderan Kamal, Kamal Muara, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. During interrogation, the suspect claimed he was under pressure from his parents to get married soon, which drove him to commit the crime.
