Man arrested for murder

JAKARTA (JP): North Jakarta police detectives have arrested a
man believed to have stabbed a friend who accused the suspect of
stealing his glasses.

Zaenal Abidin, alias Waras, 21, was picked up Monday morning
while trying to get back to his lodging house after hiding for
four days, North Jakarta police chief Lt. Col. Abubakar
Nataprawira said yesterday.

According to Abubakar, Waras decided to hide after brutally
stabbing his friend, whose real name was Zaenal Abidin, alias
Pawit, on Friday at the house where they rented separate rooms.

"Waras was so unhappy after the victim accused him of stealing
his glasses," Abubakar said.

When the suspect found Pawit asleep the suspect allegedly
tightened ropes around Pawit's neck and stabbed his body several
times, Abubakar said. (bsr)
