Man Arrested for Allegedly Harassing Passenger on TransJakarta Sky Route

A man was detained by officers after allegedly committing harassment against a passenger on a TransJakarta bus on the elevated route, or Corridor 13, heading to Puri Beta, Tangerang City. The suspect was subsequently arrested and the case handed over to the police.

The alleged harassment on the TransJakarta bus went viral on social media. A video shows a man being secured by officers. It is narrated that the perpetrator committed harassment on a TransJakarta bus bound for Puri Beta Bus Stop before being taken off at Seskoal Bus Stop.

The Head of TransJakarta’s Public Relations and CSR Department, Ayu Wardhani, confirmed the incident. The company regretted the actions of the suspected perpetrator of sexual harassment.

“The safety and comfort of our customers is TransJakarta’s top priority. In response to this alleged sexual harassment incident, we regret and confirm the occurrence,” Ayu told reporters on Wednesday (22 July 2026).

She explained that officers acted immediately against the perpetrator. Officers also secured the victim to provide initial assistance.

“Our field officers acted swiftly and responsively by immediately securing the victim and the suspected perpetrator at the scene of the incident,” she said.

TransJakarta has also coordinated with the police. The case has been handed over to the police to be processed in accordance with the prevailing law.

“In addition to providing protection and initial assistance to the victim, our officers immediately coordinated and handed over the handling of this case to the police authorities to be processed according to the applicable legal provisions,” she added.
