Mamang Osa eyes premium Mandalorian & Grogu action figures

Jakarta — Social-media content creator and toy collector Mamang Osa says he is targeting a line of premium replica figures featuring the iconic Star Wars character from the science-fiction film “The Mandalorian & Grogu”. The object of interest this time is a high-detail mini action figure (Hot Toys) depicting The Mandalorian with Grogu perched on his shoulder.

“What are you aiming for now? It looks like the Mandalorian and Grogu Hot Toys are what I’m after. I only have The Mandalorian so far; I haven’t got the Grogu yet,” Mamang Osa said after a preview screening of the film “The Mandalorian & Grogu” at a cinema in the Gandaria area of South Jakarta on Tuesday evening, 19 May.

As a premium-class collector, he admires products that can capture the object’s likeness accurately. These luxury action-figure lines are known to carry high economic value among pop culture enthusiasts.

For a standard unit, the lowest price on the market currently sits in the millions of rupiah. In addition to mini action figures, Mamang Osa also admires large-scale 1:1 replicas that were on display at the cinema that day.

These 1:1 scale minatures are said to feature intricate detailing from the eyeballs to the fur texture of the long-eared fictional creature, making them a highly attractive hobby investment.

“But that might be attractive because I am originally a hardcore Star Wars fan,” said Mamang Osa.

Regarding the film, Mamang Osa believes Star Wars science-fiction fans will be satisfied to see it presented on a grand scale in cinemas.

“Please, before watching Mandalorian & Grogu, watch the series first. Watch seasons 1, 2, 3, and some related series like for instance Boba Fett and Ahsoka, at least. So you watch it with a better understanding,” Mamang Osa said.

The film “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” is scheduled for simultaneous release across the country’s cinema networks from Wednesday, 20 May.
