Mamah Dedeh: Prabowo Talks About War Overseas and Indonesia's Condition
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The preacher, Dedeh Rosidah, known as Mamah Dedeh, briefly revealed the gist of a meeting held by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto at the Istana in Jakarta on Thursday evening (5 March 2026).
Prabowo invited Mamah Dedeh and a number of Islamic scholars, preachers, and leaders of other Islamic mass organisations to break the fast together at the Istana. However, Mamah Dedeh said she had to leave early due to other commitments.
‘The Mamah took her leave first. Coincidentally (he) was still talking about the current conditions abroad and about the war earlier,’ Mamah Dedeh said at the Istana Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday night. She said Prabowo spoke about various matters, including the situation and the ongoing war in the Middle East.
‘He explained about foreign affairs, the situation abroad, about our country, and how the current war is unfolding; that is what he conveyed,’ Mamah Dedeh said.
According to Mamah Dedeh, the event was still ongoing when she left. She added that the Head of State would also address the nation’s condition. ‘Not finished yet, no specific message. So far he has been outlining the state of the world at present. After this he will speak about the condition of the nation,’ she said.
Since the afternoon, several figures had arrived, including Anwar Iskandar, the General Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI); Haedar Nashir, General Chairman of PP Muhammadiyah. Also present were Miftachul Akhyar, Rais Aam PBNU; Yahya Zainul Ma’arif alias Buya Yahya, the caretaker of the Al-Bahjah pesantren in Cirebon. Also present were popular preachers Muhammad Subki Al-Bughury and Ustaz Wijayanto.
Upon arriving at the venue, the MUI General Chairman said his visit to the Istana was to attend President Prabowo’s invitation. ‘We will break the fast together. Later, all the chairmen of Islamic mass organisations, together with ulama and the heads of pesantren; those large pesantren with wide networks,’ he said on Thursday.
