Mama Sinta upset over unauthorised use of face in 'Pig Feast' film
Indigenous woman and environmental activist from Merauke, South Papua, Yasinta Moiwend, also known as Mama Sinta, visited the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters after being upset that her face was used in the film ‘Pig Feast’ without consent.
‘My face is everywhere they show that film; I’m hurt. They didn’t get my permission, which is why I came to Jakarta,’ she said when met at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police on Friday.
She also said she was surprised when invited to watch ‘Pig Feast’, not realising it was a documentary film.
‘I thought it was just about actually slaughtering a pig, but the film shown was titled ’Pig Feast’. Oh, there was my face,’ Mama Sinta said.
Mama Sinta also stated there was no communication regarding permission from the film producers, and she demanded the screenings be stopped immediately.
‘Stop it! Stop it from today! If anyone shows that film, please take action against them,’ she said.
Mama Sinta, accompanied by her lawyer TS Hamonangan Daulay, visited the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police around 5:00 PM WIB, then emerged to meet journalists at 6:26 PM WIB.
They later returned to the Criminal Investigation Directorate room to continue the process of filing a report regarding the damages suffered by Mama Sinta.
Around 9:40 PM WIB, Mama Sinta left the investigative room, stating the report had been accepted under case number LP/B/3843/V/2026/SPKT/Polda Metro Jaya dated 29 May 2026.
The report cites Article 65 in conjunction with Article 67 of the Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP).
