JAKARTA — Indigenous woman and environmental activist from Merauke, South Papua, Yasinta Moiwend, known as Mama Sinta, claims she was never asked to star in Dandhy Laksono’s film ‘Pig Feast’.

Ms Sinta said she only discovered her appearance in the film when a man she referred to as ‘Bang Tigor’ took her to watch a screening in Papua on 8 April 2026.

“There was no invitation at all (to star in ‘Pig Feast’). I was shocked when watching it on April 8. I saw my face there when they played the film, ‘Pig Feast’,” Sinta said during an interview at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters on Friday (26 May 2026).

“Stop it! Halt it from today! If anyone shows the film, please take action against them,” she stressed.

Sinta also plans to report those screening the film to the police for further action.

Accompanied by her legal team, Sinta visited the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. They are currently consulting with investigators before filing a formal report.

“This is a preliminary process; we will resume after completion. Today’s consultation and the busy schedule at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police,” said Mama Sinta’s lawyer, Daulay Hamonangan.

After giving statements, they returned to the General Criminal Investigation Directorate building of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police to continue consultations.

Observations at the scene showed Mama Sinta leaving the General Criminal Investigation Directorate building of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police with her legal team.

When asked about the purpose of her visit, Mama Sinta’s lawyer, Daulay T.S. Hamonangan, said they were consulting with investigators regarding alleged damages suffered by her client due to the film’s publication.

They plan to file a police report once the consultation process is complete.

“Today’s report to the Jakarta Metropolitan Police concerns Mama Sinta’s personality rights. A 62-year-old citizen was exploited without proper permission or acknowledgment from Mama Sinta,” Daulay stated at the police headquarters on Friday.

Daulay did not specify who exactly they would report.
