Ambon (ANTARA) -

The Maluku Regional Police (Polda Maluku) is building a security post (Pos Pam) in the Stain Air Besar (Arbes) area, Batu Merah Village, Ambon, as an effort to strengthen security in a region with high community activity.

“The construction of the Pos Pam is part of efforts to provide a sense of security for the public, not merely for institutional interests,” said Maluku Police Chief Irjen Pol Dadang Hartanto in Ambon on Thursday (23/4).

The construction was marked by the laying of the first stone, led by Maluku Police Chief Dadang Hartanto, along with the signing of a cooperation agreement with PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk Ambon Branch.

The event, held in the Stain–Air Besar intersection area, serves as a concrete step in improving security services to the community and supporting regional social and economic stability.

“This is a form of real collaboration whose benefits are directly felt by the public. The presence of the Pos Pam is expected to enhance the sense of security in this area,” he stated.

He emphasised that security is the primary foundation for the continuation of community social and economic activities.

“Security often goes unnoticed when conditions are conducive. However, when disrupted, the impact is very significant. Therefore, strengthening the security system must be continuously carried out,” he explained.

On the same occasion, a cooperation guideline was signed between Polda Maluku and BRI as a form of strengthening institutional synergy.

Maluku Region BRI Area Head Wawan Indarno stated that support for the Pos Pam construction is part of the company’s commitment to creating a safe and conducive environment.

“Security is the primary capital in driving economic activities. Therefore, we fully support the construction of this security facility,” he said.

The Police Chief also appreciated the role of the community, including contributions in providing land for the Pos Pam construction. According to him, such participation demonstrates that security is a shared responsibility between authorities and the community.

The presence of the Stain Air Besar Pos Pam is expected to increase the effectiveness of security measures and strengthen the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) presence as protectors, guardians, and servants of the community.
