Malnutrition still a problem
SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Malnutrition is still a cause for
concern in East Kalimantan province, as 15.98 percent out of
total 26,822 infants (5,103) in the province were reported as
malnourished last year.
Setyo Budi Basuki, the head of nutrition section at the East
Kalimantan Health Office, said that the high rate of malnutrition
in the province was largely due to poverty.
There were 313,000 families in the province living under the
poverty line last year. -- JP
