Malls, apartments in Cipinang

JAKARTA (JP): Apartments, malls, hotels and office buildings
are to be built on a 35-hectare plot of land on Jl. Panjaitan in
the Cipinang Besar Utara sub-district of East Jakarta.

Andy Mapaganty, an official of the East Jakarta mayoralty,
told Antara on Thursday that the construction of the buildings
was scheduled to start next month.

The land is currently occupied by 4,600 families, or 22,000
people. Those same families will occupy the completed apartments,
Andy said. He said that 75 percent of the land belongs to the
state.

There are to be nine apartment blocks, each with 10
stories.(bas)
