Malaysian riders join Siwo race

JAKARTA (JP): Malaysia announced yesterday it would send a
team of three riders to the annual track cycling race at the
Rawamangun velodrome, East Jakarta, this weekend.

Secretary-general of the Indonesian Cycling Association
Hussein Kartasasmita said that Malaysia did not unveil the team
lineup but he expected former Asian sprint champion Alwi,
Mochamad Suhaimi and Kumaresan Murugayan to be the chosen riders.

Alwi and Suhaimi came here for the invitational races
organized by the Jakarta-based sports journalists association
last year, taking a bronze each. The Malaysians are expected to
arrive today. (amd)
