The visit plan was announced by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its official website, as reported on Thursday (26/3). The two leaders will focus on discussing the impact of the crisis stemming from the ongoing escalation of the war between the US-Israel and Iran.

“Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim will undertake a Special Visit to Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia, on 27 March 2026 at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto,” the statement read.

“This visit will focus on recent geopolitical developments, particularly the conflict in West Asia, and its impact on regional stability and the global economy, including implications for Malaysia and Indonesia,” it said.

The two national leaders are said to require comprehensive, careful, and coordinated discussions to align positions and strengthen strategic cooperation in addressing the crisis situation.

“The two leaders are expected to intensify diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and ensure the continuity of vital global trade routes and supply chains essential for the well-being of their peoples,” it said.
