Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim Reveals Details of Conversation with Prabowo
Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, has revealed the content of his conversation with President Prabowo Subianto. It is known that Prabowo contacted several Muslim country leaders via telephone, including Anwar Ibrahim. The communication was conducted in observance of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah. According to the Malaysian PM, he and Prabowo exchanged views on various current issues. “Including the Iran-Israel conflict,” Anwar wrote on his Instagram account @anwaribrahim_my, on Tuesday, 24 March 2026. In discussing regional and global issues, both emphasised the importance of a sustained diplomatic approach. According to Anwar, he and Prabowo both called for peace regarding the war in the West Asian region. Anwar also informed Prabowo that Malaysia continues to support and strengthen diplomatic efforts to ease the Iran-Israel conflict. “So that tensions can be reduced, civilian lives protected, and meaningful negotiation space opened towards a safe and lasting resolution,” Anwar stated. In addition, the two national leaders agreed to arrange a meeting in the near future. Anwar even proposed a plan for a state visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, as a step to strengthen bilateral relations. Previously, Prabowo Subianto extended Eid al-Fitr greetings via telephone to several Islamic country leaders. They were Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. President Prabowo also conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings via telephone to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Jordanian King Abdullah II, and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
