Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim Promises 'War' on Israel's Logistics Routes

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has emphasised that his country will take stern action against any cargo shipments traversing its territory if they are proven to support Israeli military operations.

Quoting the Middle East Monitor on Thursday (17/09/2026), Anwar shared a report via his X platform confirming that Malaysian authorities have successfully seized several shipments en route to Israel. He underlined that Malaysia’s position on this issue is clear and non-negotiable.

“We will not allow our country to be used as a channel for any shipments that support or contribute to the military capabilities of Israel and its atrocities against the Palestinian people and other innocent lives,” Anwar stated firmly.

Furthermore, he promised that any suspicious cargo or shipments would be immediately intercepted, inspected, and thoroughly investigated in accordance with applicable Malaysian laws. “If violations are proven, decisive action will be taken,” he added.

This boycott manoeuvre complements a series of Malaysian rejections of any activities that benefit Israel. Previously, on 15 July, Anwar Ibrahim announced an uncompromising policy stating that anyone found holding Israeli citizenship alongside another nationality, and proven to be residing in Malaysia, would be immediately deported from the country.
