Malaysian players sent home

BUSAN, South Korea: Three Malaysian sepak takraw players are set to be sent home after test results showed they had been using morphine.

Malaysian chef-de-mission Khalid Yunus said the urine samples of the three had shown up positive during random tests conducted in Kuala Lumpur before the team left for Busan.

Malaysia's Bernama news agency named the three as Mohamad Aznan Raslan, Mohamad Haniff Azman and Mohamad Firdaus Abdul Ghani.

"They will be sent home immediately so as not to tarnish the image of the team and the country," Khalid told reporters at the Dongseo Minseok University gymnasium, which is hosting the sepak takraw events.--JP
