Malaysian Pilot Used Drugs While Transporting 25kg of Ecstasy to Indonesia

In addition to being caught carrying 77,000 pills or 25.19 kilograms of ecstasy in his suitcase, a Malaysian pilot, identified by the initials MS, was found to be using drugs while operating aircraft. The pilot, who was apprehended at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, tested positive for three types of narcotics: methamphetamine, ecstasy, and cocaine.

“The urine test results were positive for meth, ecstasy, and cocaine. This means that during his flight, he was either using or under the influence of drugs,” stated the Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office, Hengky Tomuan Parlindungan Aritonang, on Friday (31/7).

Meanwhile, the Sub-Director of Narcotics Crime at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri), Commissioner Awaludin Amin, stated that the pilot was not only transporting drugs but was also proven to be consuming several types of prohibited substances. Based on investigations, the pilot has reportedly been involved in drug smuggling on three separate occasions.

“The first instance involved transporting meth to Sabah, Malaysia. The second involved transporting 7 kilograms of meth to Jakarta. The third involved transporting ecstasy and meth to Jakarta, which was ultimately uncovered by officers at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs,” explained Awaludin.

Awaludin added that authorities are currently pursuing the international drug network involving the Malaysian pilot. The mastermind behind the operation is believed to be located in Jakarta.

“They are currently within the Jakarta area. Please pray that we can apprehend them and uncover the full network soon,” said Awaludin.

Due to his actions, the pilot faces charges under drug trafficking laws, specifically Article 113 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 114 Paragraph (2) and Article 132 Paragraph (1) subsidiarity Article 609 Paragraph (2).

“The criminal activities carried out by the suspect are extremely serious,” concluded Awaludin.
