Malaysian nabbed for illegal recruitment

PONTIANAK, West Kalimantan: Police said on Tuesday they had arrested a Malaysian man for recruiting Indonesian workers from West Kalimantan province without a permit.

Thirty-one-year-old Lee Horg from East Malaysia was apprehended last Saturday in the province's Kapuas Hulu district, said West Kalimantan Police spokesman Comr. Suhadi.

Police also arrested Bie Bak Long, 65, an Indonesian, who helped find the workers for Horg.

Arriving in Indonesia on Jan. 29, Horg told the police that he had found seven Indonesian women wanting to work in Malaysia. He was arrested for failing to show proper travel documents. -- Antara.
