Malaysian Moslems protest strikes
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Hundreds of angry Moslem protesters
gathered outside the United States Embassy here yesterday to
denounce missile attacks against alleged terrorist targets in
Afghanistan and Sudan.
The protest, which began after Friday prayers, was organized
by the opposition Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS), which denounced
the U.S. as a terrorist country.
As many as 1,000 protesters headed toward the embassy in
central Kuala Lumpur after gathering at a nearby building housing
the state-owned Pilgrims Fund Board.
Banners carried by the protesters described the United States
as the "King of Satan" and President Bill Clinton as a "sex and
war maniac".
