The Rinjani National Park Authority (TNGR) stated that a Malaysian hiker, Chye Connsynn (41), who was injured during a climb in the Rinjani National Park area in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), has been evacuated by helicopter.

“The aerial evacuation is part of the premium insurance claim available at TNGR,” said Astekita Ardiaristo, Head of the Administrative Sub-Section of TNGR, in East Lombok on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

He explained that based on a report from TNGR duty officers at Pelawangan at 06:45 WITA, the weather was clear, allowing immediate preparation of the aerial evacuation to ensure the safety of the Malaysian hiker who had an accident during the climb.

“The victim was transferred to a stretcher to facilitate evacuation. The helicopter then took off towards Pelawangan 2,” he said.

After briefly landing in Sembalun to drop off medical personnel to reduce the aircraft’s load, the helicopter successfully landed at the Pelawangan 2 helipad and immediately evacuated the victim to Sembalun.

“The victim was flown to a referral hospital in Denpasar, Bali for further medical treatment,” he added.

TNGR thanked all parties involved in the humanitarian operation, including Basarnas Mataram, EMHC, Kita Bisa Sharia Insurance, SGI Air Bali, Nusa Medica Clinic, East Lombok SAR Unit, volunteers, and all TNGR staff who worked swiftly, competently, and with dedication.

“May the victim recover soon and all personnel involved remain safe,” he concluded.
