KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): Women members of Malaysia's biggest ethnic Chinese political party will launch a nationwide "Love Malaysia" campaign today to help speed up the country's economic recovery, a news report said yesterday.
About 6,000 women are expected to attend the "Love Malaysia, Buy Malaysian Products" drive in southern Seremban town organized by the women's wing of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA).
At the rally, the women will pledge to support government measures taken so far to solve the nation's economic woes, and distribute a list of locally made products which should be bought, instead of expensive imports.
"Women are capable of helping the nation solve the economic problems because they make decisions on household expenditure," an MCA women's wing official, Ng Yen Yen, was quoted as saying by the Star daily.
