Malaysian Embassy mourns king's death
JAKARTA: The Malaysian Embassy here was closed on Thursday to mourn the death of Malaysia's 11th king Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.
The embassy said the temporary closure was to show respect for the 75-year-old king, who died in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
The embassy will also open a condolence book for the people of Indonesia on Friday, Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sultan Salahuddin, who was ruler of central Selangor state for 41 years, was widely known as a king who set aside protocol and formality to reach out to his people.
He died at 11:57 a.m. of heart failure at a private hospital in a suburb of the Malaysian capital.--Antara
