KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak will visit Indonesia early next month for talks on illegal immigrants and security in the Malacca Strait, local media reported on Thursday.
Najib, accompanied by his home minister Azmi Khalid, will meet with President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono during the three-day visit and hold talks with Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Dec. 8, the New Straits Times said.
The issues to be discussed include Indonesia's request for an extension to the amnesty for illegal immigrants in Malaysia and a memorandum of understanding for hiring Indonesian maids, Najib was quoted as saying.
Najib, who is also defense minister, said he would head Malaysia's delegation to the two-day Malaysia-Indonesia General Border Committee meeting beginning Dec. 9. -- AFP
