Malaysian caught for worker scam
INDONESIA: Medan Police detectives arrested a Malaysian,
identified as Kai La Sam, on Saturday for allegedly bringing
illegal Indonesian migrant workers into the neighboring country.
The police also detained 10 migrant workers who were about to
depart for Malaysia along with the 52-year-old Kai.
Detectives chief Adj. Comr. Maruli Siahaan said that Kai was
arrested when he was about to send the workers from his house in
Tembung village in Medan.
He arrived in the city on March 15 using a visitor's visa but
later sought workers to be sent to Malaysia.
"He is in police custody and is being interrogated," Maruli
said. -- JP
