WASHINGTON (AFP): President Bill Clinton said on Monday he
would nominate new U.S. ambassadors to Cambodia and Malaysia.
Clinton said he would nominate career foreign service officer
Kenneth Quinn as ambassador to Cambodia. Quinn served as Deputy
Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs from 1990-
1994.
The president said he had selected foreign service officer
John Malott as ambassador to Malaysia.
Malott has been serving as senior adviser to the under
secretary of state for economic, business and agricultural
affairs since September 1993.
The nominations are subject to confirmation by the Republican-
