Malaysia prepares Asian Games bid
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Malaysia will face its first test in its bid for the 2006 Asian Games when a high-powered foreign inspection team arrives here next week, officials said Sunday.
A five-member team, led by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) vice-president Muhammad Latif Butt, will fly in Monday from New Delhi for a two-day visit, said Olympic Council of Malaysia secretary Sieh Kok Chi.
Muhammaf Latif, who heads the evaluation committee, will be accompanied by OCA treasurer Santiparb Tejavanija, OCA athletes committee chairman Mikako Sugiura, OCA sports committee member Muwaffak Fawaz and coordinator Vinod Tiwari, he said.
