KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): Malaysia's palm oil futures closed mostly unchanged after moving in a 12-ringgit range at the close on Friday on the back of weekend short covering, traders said.
The benchmark third position November futures contract was unchanged at 1,000 ringgit ($263.15) a ton, after trading as low as 994 ringgit.
Volume was 1,108 lots against 2,130 lots at the close on Thursday.
Physical Aug (south) crude palm oil was offered at 960 ringgit a ton against bids of 950. It traded at 950 to 955.
Aug (central) crude palm oil was offered at 955 ringgit a ton, against bids of 950, and traded at 947.50
Sep (south) was offered at 970 ringgit against bids of 965. Trade was reported at 960 to 965.
Sep (central) was offered at 970 against bids of to 965. It was traded from 960 to 965.
Among refined products, Sep RBD palm oil was offered at $270 a ton FOB, Oct at $277.50 and Nov/Dec at $285.
There were offers for Sep RBD palm olein at $287.50, Oct at $295 and Nov/Dec at $305.
Sep RBD palm stearin was offered at $205 and Sep palm fatty acid distillate at $177.50.
