Malaysia jails two Filipinos

KUALA LUMPUR (AP): A Philippine woman has pleaded guilty to
hacking her husband to death and was sentenced to 12 years in
prison, a report said yesterday.

In the same court, another Filipino was jailed for 11 years
and ordered to be whipped four times for raping his 15-year-old
daughter in front of his wife and step-daughter, The Star daily
reported.

Karimah Safiewas, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, told the
court in Tawau, 1,166 kilometers east of Kuala Lumpur, she
suspected her husband, Hamdan Mohammad, 28, was having an affair
with another woman.

Prosecuting officer Lukas Aket told the court before she was
sentenced Thursday that Karimah killed Mohammad at a house at a
construction site in Borneo on Aug. 8, the report said.
