TEMPO Interactive, Surakarta:Malaysia plans to invest in building a bottled water factory in Surakarta.

The Malaysian International Trade and Industry Committee said this on Wednesday night and they are ready to invest Rp200 billion.

“The factory will produce glass and bottled water,” said the head of the delegation, Ales Ong.

The location surveyed is around Bengawan Solo River, which could be a source of raw materials.

“If agreed, we target before 2012 the factory could operate,” he said.

Surakarta Mayor, Joko Widodo, said he could not yet receive the request to erect the factory because they prioritize local investors.
