Malaysia Expresses Solidarity with Saudi Arabian Government
Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysia has expressed solidarity with the Government of Saudi Arabia and strongly condemned the attacks by Houthi armed groups against the nation, including strikes targeting civilians and public infrastructure.
Through a statement by the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Wisma Putra) in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, Malaysia supported the efforts of the Saudi Arabian Government to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its people, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law.
Malaysia also expressed support for all efforts to de-escalate tensions and bring an immediate end to the conflict.
“Malaysia highly values the long-standing cooperation established with the Government of Saudi Arabia and remains committed to further strengthening this partnership for the mutual interests of both nations,” stated Wisma Putra.
The Houthi armed group, which currently controls northern Yemen, announced on Saturday (19/9) that it had launched two military operations targeting several locations in Saudi Arabia.
The attacks targeted the Saudi capital, Riyadh, as well as oil processing facilities operated by the Saudi state-owned company, Aramco, in the western region of the country.
