Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysia has strongly condemned the ongoing military attacks carried out by Israel against Lebanon, which are regarded as a clear violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of that country.

The Malaysian Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) in a statement in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday emphasised that the attacks constitute a direct defiance of international law and United Nations Security Council resolutions.

Wisma Putra views this escalation as also gravely endangering the two-week ceasefire agreement that has been reached between the United States and Iran, and threatening to drag the region into a wider and more ferocious conflict.

According to Wisma Putra, such actions not only undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts but also risk causing total destabilisation in West Asia, with serious implications for global peace and security.

Malaysia urges the international community, including the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to immediately take firm and concrete action to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing violations of international law.

β€œThe culture of impunity must be ended to prevent more innocent lives from being lost and to protect the sanctity of state sovereignty boundaries,” stated Wisma Putra.

Malaysia reaffirms its steadfast support for the government and people of Lebanon. Malaysia remains committed to the position that sustainable peace can only be achieved through the cessation of all hostilities and a genuine commitment to peaceful resolutions through diplomatic channels.
