Malang Hajj Healthcare Workers Ready to Provide Optimal Services to Pilgrims
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG – Hajj healthcare workers from the Malang cluster in East Java have ensured that all preparations have been made to optimise services for all prospective Hajj pilgrims from the region while they are in Saudi Arabia. Hajj Healthcare Worker for Cluster SUB 11, Acik Wijayanti, stated that physical condition and the availability of medications are the primary aspects focused on to support the smooth execution of duties in the Holy Land. “Preparations are ready. Physical fitness is number one because there I will be providing health accompaniment. We are also preparing medications for the pilgrims,” said Acik when met at dr Saiful Anwar General Hospital (RSSA) in Malang, East Java, on Thursday (16/4/2026). This healthcare worker from RSSA also assured that extra accompaniment will be provided to the 376 prospective Hajj pilgrims, particularly those who are elderly from Malang. In her cluster, there is one pilgrim who is 96 years old. According to her, optimal service to all prospective Hajj pilgrims is part of efforts to express gratitude for blessings while safeguarding the trust given by Allah for the second time. For her, being a Hajj healthcare worker is part of humanitarian duties. “We will also conduct visitations to high-risk pilgrims or risti, those aged 65 and above with comorbidities,” she said. Departure to Saudi Arabia for the 2026 Hajj season marks the second time after the 2023 period. Acik stated that the prospective Hajj pilgrims of Cluster 11 whom she accompanies will depart from Malang to the Hajj Dormitory (Ahes) in Sukolilo, Surabaya, East Java, on Thursday (23/4/2026) at 17.00 WIB and arrive there around 21.00 WIB.
