Malang Customs Uncovers Unlicensed Alcohol Sales at Karaoke Venue
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MALANG – Malang Customs inspected a karaoke venue selling various types and classes of beverages containing ethyl alcohol (MMEA)/alcoholic drinks, but without possessing the Retail Sales Entrepreneur Identification Number for Excise Goods (NPPBKC). The karaoke venue is located on Jalan Trunojoyo, Songgokerto Village, Batu Subdistrict, Batu City. The inspection carried out on Tuesday (7/4/2026) was a follow-up to receiving information and public reports regarding indications of a retail sales location (TPE) selling MMEA without NPPBKC. From the inspection results, officers found the karaoke venue selling various types and classes of MMEA, with a total of 806 bottles ready for sale. Officers then carried out actions and sealing of the MMEA storage warehouse to secure evidence and prevent further circulation. Head of Malang Customs Office, Johan Pandores, emphasised compliance with excise regulations, including the obligation to have NPPBKC, as non-negotiable. “The public should know that the circulation of illegal MMEA not only harms the state but also potentially endangers the public. Therefore, we invite all business actors and the public to jointly reject the circulation of illegal excise goods,” he stated firmly on Friday (24/4/2026).
