Malang City Launches Digital Literacy Programme for Sekolah Rakyat Students
The Malang City Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo) has launched a digital literacy programme for students at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 16 to protect them from negative content such as online gambling (judol) and hoaxes. The programme is called Sinau Perkuat Literasi Digital (SAPULIDI).
Head of Diskominfo Malang City, Nur Widianto, said on Friday that SAPULIDI carries the spirit of a broom sweeping away negative things, in this context referring to online gambling, hoaxes, and similar threats. He stated that the programme is part of strengthening digital literacy for Sekolah Rakyat students.
Widianto explained that the programme focuses on providing an understanding of the harmful impacts of exposure to negative content. The concept of SAPULIDI is expected to gradually shape critical thinking and wise attitudes among SRMP 16 Malang City students when using information technology devices.
“Sekolah Rakyat students need supporting facilities and infrastructure, so we need to be present according to our existing capacity,” he said. According to him, the material presented is very important because it will build the foundational skills of Sekolah Rakyat students, making them better prepared if they later choose to pursue further education focused on information technology.
He expressed hope that this strategy will have an impact on the future lives of SRMP 16 students, particularly those who aspire to work in the creative industry or state security agencies. Diskominfo Malang City is committed to intensifying SAPULIDI by continuously strengthening communication with officials at SRMP 16, especially regarding the scheduling of the programme.
