Malang City Government Prepares Complaint Channel for Free Nutritious Meals Programme
Malang, East Java — The Malang City Government is preparing the establishment of a complaint channel concerning the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme that can be utilised by all residents in the local area to ensure service quality.
Deputy Mayor Ali Muthohirin assured that every report concerning the MBG programme will be directly facilitated and followed up by the local government administration to be prepared as material for evaluation and ongoing oversight.
“So there is no longer any reason to worry, because there are already many channels available to submit complaints for the common good,” said Ali.
The establishment of this complaint channel aims to provide space for the public to participate in overseeing and assisting the government in resolving issues. As a result, it is hoped that the MBG programme can be implemented increasingly well with minimal obstacles.
The local government has also invited residents to report MBG issues to schools, the media, or through personal social media accounts or to Malang Mayor Wahyu Hidayat.
The local government, he said, is currently preparing steps to establish an MBG Task Force that will be filled by officials from relevant departments.
The task force, according to Ali, has the duty to strictly oversee and ensure that the quality of each raw material and prepared MBG package to be distributed to every school in Malang City complies with health standards.
The team will also be responsible for analysing the feasibility and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOP) and issuing recommendations for the implementation of MBG programme evaluation based on field data.
A series of measures taken by the Malang City Government aim to strengthen quality standards for MBG packages for students, to ensure that all assistance received is in the best condition and fit for consumption.
“We have also instructed schools to firmly ensure food quality and have the right to reject packages that do not meet quality standards or appear to be spoiled,” he said.
