Mal Citraland name inaugurated

JAKARTA (JP): West Jakarta Mayor Suterdjianto has inaugurated
the use of "Mal Citraland" for the complex previously known as
"Citraland Mall".

The ceremony marking the name-change was held in the mall
complex in West Jakarta on Monday.

The change was made in response to the city administration's
call for the use of Indonesian names instead of foreign names. It
was timed to follow the launching of the National Discipline
Movement campaign by President Soeharto on May 20.

Besides Mal Citraland, the Ciputra Group has also changed
"Citraland Hotel Jakarta" to "Hotel Citraland Jakarta",
"Citraland Mall Semarang" ("Mal Citraland Semarang"), "Citra
Garden" ("Perumahan Citra"), "Citraland City Surabaya"
("CitraRaya Surabaya Kota Mandiri"), "CitraGrand City--City of
the Arts" ("CitraRaya Tangerang-Kota Nuansa Seni") and "Citraland
Regency Apartment" ("Apartemen Citra Regency"). (hhr)
