Makmur promotes investment activities that benefit the environment and education

Investment platform PT Inovasi Finansial Teknologi (Makmur) is promoting investment activities that can deliver benefits for the environment and education. The company, together with PT Insight Investments Management (IIM) and U-Inspire Indonesia, held the Jakarta Weather Detective (U-DETECT Jakarta) programme at SMAN 48 Jakarta. “This programme reflects how investment can create value that goes beyond the financial aspect,” said Makmur Chief Investment Officer Stefanus Dennis Winarto in an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday. Through the programme, the company wants to show that investment plays a role in helping society build a financial future while simultaneously supporting various initiatives that provide benefits for the environment and education. “Just as investments grow through compounding, small contributions made continuously can generate a large impact over time,” Stefanus said. On the same occasion, PT Insight Investments Management Director Ria M. Warganda said this activity aligns with the commitment to responsible investment management. She believes investment not only yields financial benefits but can also be a vehicle for creating a positive impact on society. “Through this programme, we want to encourage the emergence of a young generation that possesses climate literacy, data analysis skills, and a concern for sustainability issues that are increasingly important in the future,” Ria said. Meanwhile, U-Inspire Foundation Chairperson Giovanni Chynthia expressed hope that this activity could become an educational model that can be replicated in various other schools. “This programme is also expected to contribute to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the aspects of quality education, climate action, and sustainable urban development,” Giovanni said. The U-DETECT programme is designed to actively involve students in environmental monitoring while strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) literacy through the use of Internet of Things (IoT)-based weather sensors. Using a citizen science approach, students act as “weather detectives” who understand climate change theory, the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon, and are directly involved in the observation and data processing. A total of 15 weather sensors were placed in students’ homes and one point in the school environment to produce more representative microclimate data. On the Makmur platform, there is the Insight Elite Fund Sharia Fixed Income Mutual Fund, which is designed to provide potential long-term investment value growth while opening opportunities for investors to participate in various social activities. Based on the Fund Fact Sheet as of May 2026, the Insight Elite Fund Sharia Fixed Income Mutual Fund recorded cumulative growth of 125.9 per cent since its launch in 2016.
