Makmur promotes investment activities that benefit the environment and education
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The mutual fund and stock investment services company PT Inovasi Finansial Teknologi (Makmur) is encouraging investment activities that can provide benefits for the environment and education.
In collaboration with PT Insight Investments Management (IIM) and U-Inspire Indonesia, the company is hosting the Jakarta Weather Detective (U-DETECT Jakarta) programme at SMAN 48 Jakarta.
“This programme reflects how investment is capable of creating value that goes beyond financial aspects,” said Makmur’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Stefanus Dennis Winarto, in an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
Through this programme, the company aims to demonstrate that investment plays a role in helping society build a financial future, while simultaneously supporting various initiatives that benefit the environment and education.
“Just as investments grow through compounding, small contributions made sustainably can produce a significant impact over time,” said Stefan_nus.
On the same occasion, the Director of PT Insight Investments Management, Ria M. Warganda, stated that this activity aligns with the commitment to responsible investment management.
She believes that investment does not only yield financial benefits but can also serve as a means to create a positive impact on society.
“Through this programme, we want to encourage the emergence of a younger generation that possesses climate literacy, data analysis skills, and an awareness of sustainability issues, which are becoming increasingly important in the future,” said Ria.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the U-Inspire Foundation, Giovanni Chynthia, expressed hope that this activity could serve as an educational model that can be replicated in other schools.
“This programme is also expected to contribute to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the aspects of quality education, climate action, and sustainable cities,” said Giovanni.
For information, the U-DETECT programme is designed to involve students actively in environmental monitoring while strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) literacy through the use of Internet of Things (IoT) based weather sensors.
Using a citizen science approach, students act as “weather detectives” who understand climate change theory and the Urban Heat Island (UHI) phenomenon, while being directly involved in the observation and data processing process.
Specifically, 15 weather sensors have been placed in students’ homes and at one point within the school environment to generate more representative microclimate data.
On the Makmur platform, there is the Insight Elite Fund Sharia Fixed Income Mutual Fund, which is designed to provide potential long-term investment value growth, while also providing opportunities for investors to participate in various social activities.
Based on the Fund Fact Sheet as of May 2026, the Insight Elite Fund Sharia Fixed Income Mutual Fund has recorded a cumulative growth of 125.9 per cent since its launch in 2016.
