Making History: BPS and PT Pos Indonesia Launch Special Commemorative Stamps for 2026 Economic Census
For the first time in the history of the Economic Census, the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS) together with PT Pos Indonesia has launched Special Edition Commemorative Stamps for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026). The launch of these commemorative stamps serves as a form of support from PT Pos Indonesia for the implementation of SE2026, aimed at capturing a complete picture of economic activities in Indonesia.
The Director of PT Pos Indonesia, Daud Joseph, presented the SE2026 Special Edition Commemorative Stamps to the Head of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, and the Deputy Head of BPS RI, Sonny Harry Budiutomo Harmadi, during a memorandum of understanding signing ceremony and the National Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of SE202_6 in Jakarta on Friday.
The Head of BPS RI, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, expressed her appreciation for PT Pos Indonesia’s support, noting that the launch serves as a special token of friendship to ensure the success of one of the nation’s largest statistical undertakings. She stated that the stamps symbolise a shared commitment to the 2026 Economic Census, which will serve as a historical record for future generations.
Daud Joseph added that PT Pos Indonesia’s support for SE2026 extends to other services, including PosPay payroll and ecosystems, postal insurance, logistics, and stamps. He emphasised that this initiative is a contribution to the nation and the state.
Amalia noted that PT Pos Indonesia has long been a vital partner for BPS in providing statistical data, particularly regarding logistics and international trade data, which is submitted to BPS periodically. She highlighted that the synergy between BPS and PT Pos Indonesia is increasingly relevant given the rapid development of the transport, logistics, and courier sectors, which significantly contribute to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Through the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the cooperation between BPS and PT Pos Indonesia will be expanded in terms of both scope and data exchange mechanisms. Data exchange will be conducted in a more integrated and automated manner using Application Programming Interfaces (API). This step is expected to support more rapid, efficient, and sustainable data provision. Amalia added that the flow of data will be reciprocal, with updated statistics from BPS being shared directly with PT Pos Indonesia.
The signing ceremony took place alongside the National Coordination Meeting for the Implementation of the 2026 Economic Census, serving as a momentum to strengthen coordination and ensure readiness across central, provincial, and regency/city levels of BPS for the successful execution of SE2026.
