Making elections a success
Making elections a success
From Suara Karya
Many people fear that this year's national elections will not
proceed successfully because of a number of problems. There are
the likely protests from political parties that fail to pass the
verification of the General Elections Commission (KPU). The
incomplete or even fraudulent lists of candidates submitted by
political parties to the KPU. And then there are the companies
the KPU has entrusted to produce the ballot boxes -- will enough
of them be ready in time?
Given these many problems, now is not the time for pointing
the finger of blame. Indonesians must, instead, unite to overcome
these problems to ensure the elections will proceed smoothly.
Every Indonesian must realize the success of the elections this
year is vital to the future of the Indonesian state and nation.
