Make Jakarta's Achievements a Foundation for Visionary Development
The Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) of DKI Jakarta Province is committed to continuing to oversee development policies so that they always favour the interests of the people. This step is also taken to strengthen global competitiveness and maintain Jakarta’s identity as an inclusive and cultured city. The commitment was conveyed by the Speaker of the DPRD DKI Jakarta, Suhud Alynudin, during a Plenary Meeting commemorating the 499th Anniversary of Jakarta City at the DPRD DKI Jakarta Building on Monday (22/6). Suhud stated that Jakarta has shown significant progress through modern and integrated infrastructure development, an increasingly well-organised public transportation system, and urban area planning that is more humanist and oriented towards residents’ comfort. He said the success of development is also reflected in the improvement of public service quality and governance, service digitalisation, and the strengthening of budget transparency. Furthermore, active community participation in development planning has encouraged the creation of a more responsive and accountable government, efforts for sustainable flood control, the development of green open spaces, and economic empowerment based on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the creative economy. ‘Entering the age of 499 years, these achievements should become a foundation for stepping forward more visionarily and sustainably,’ Suhud said. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also achieved an unqualified opinion (WTP) for the ninth consecutive time for the implementation of the 2025 DKI Jakarta Provincial Government budget and financial reports from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) representative of DKI Jakarta Province. According to Suhud, this achievement is tangible proof of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government’s commitment to realising transparent and accountable regional financial management. ‘More than just an administrative achievement, the WTP opinion reflects responsibility in managing the mandate and trust of the community,’ Suhud stated. He said the WTP opinion must serve as a foundation to continuously improve the quality of public services, development effectiveness, and the welfare of Jakarta’s citizens, as every rupiah managed must provide tangible benefits for the community. ‘Hopefully, the synergy between the DPRD DKI Jakarta Province and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to be strong in building a more advanced and sustainable Jakarta,’ Suhud concluded.
