Makassar Youth Community Develops Application to Boost MSME Sales
Makassar (ANTARA) - A youth community in Makassar has introduced a technological innovation in the form of an application that can automatically reply to messages (chat) to support increased sales for micro, small, and medium enterprise actors.
“This AI-based application is designed to overcome communication challenges with customers that are increasingly prevalent in the digital era,” said Business Consultant for Bisachat AI, Nurhaliza A. Arief, in Makassar on Thursday.
She explained that the surge in WhatsApp usage as the primary business channel has brought new challenges, particularly regarding message accumulation and slow responses that can impede sales.
This situation is seen as potentially leading to lost sales opportunities amid increasingly tight competition.
Observing this phenomenon, her group has been developing an artificial intelligence-based platform named “Bisachat AI” since June 2025.
The application is designed to help business actors manage customer conversations more efficiently through its automatic chat reply feature.
Nurhaliza revealed that many businesses have high market demand but are not yet able to manage customer communications optimally.
“Many chats go unanswered or are responded to late, even though they have the potential to become transactions. That’s the main problem,” she stated.
According to her, WhatsApp usage is no longer just an additional communication tool but also an essential part of the marketing and transaction process.
However, the increase in the number of messages is often not matched by human resource capacity. As a solution, Bisachat AI provides a system capable of responding to customer messages automatically and quickly, even outside operating hours.
