IK (19), the murderer of a 12-year-old primary school student, attempted to deceive police – his scheme has been uncovered. He attempted to mislead officers by creating a commotion at the crime scene (TKP).

The murder case began when the suspect dragged the victim into an empty house in Tallo, Makassar, on Tuesday evening (26 May 2026), covering her mouth with cloth. He then pressed hard on her chest, causing her to lose consciousness.

‘The victim was gagged with cloth, then he pressed her chest hard, causing her head to hit something. She was still alive but unconscious, and then raped,’ said Makassar City Police Chief Kombes Arya Perdana, according to detikSulsel.

The victim’s body was discovered by residents the following day (27 May) in a horrific state, naked and with a broken television on her head inside the empty house. The suspect was arrested by police not far from the crime scene.

While police were investigating the area, they were startled by a commotion. IK was attempting to disrupt the crime scene processing.

‘While processing the crime scene, there was a commotion – it turned out to be the suspect,’ said Arya.

Arya stated the suspect deliberately caused the commotion to divert police attention. He also hoped authorities would arrest him for a lesser charge of threatening with a weapon, rather than murder.

‘He created a disturbance by chasing residents and children with a parang – it turned out to be the suspect. He was detained for carrying a parang, attempting to mislead police,’ he added.

Arya said the suspect worked as a labourer at Paotere Fish Market (TPI). While living in the area, he was staying with relatives.

Modus Operandi

Police stated the suspect planned the crime by asking the victim to buy food and drinks.

‘This was a premeditated murder preceded by the rape of a 12-year-old child. It is truly heartbreaking for us,’ said Kombes Arya.

Arya revealed the suspect was a drug user and frequent viewer of pornographic films. These habits drove him to target and observe the victim’s movements.

‘He saw this 12-year-old child, asked her to buy drinks, then later food. That’s when he acted,’ he said.

The suspect then carried out the brutal act when the victim returned with the requested food. He forcibly dragged her into the empty house and gagged her.
